Planning a trip to Sydney and looking for a well located, comfortable place to stay? Today I’m sharing my 100% honest review of Mercure Sydney, a 4-star Accor property right in the heart of the city.

Room rates generally range between $140 to $220 USD per night, but prices fluctuate significantly depending on the season. You can check current rates for your dates using the links below:

🛏️ Modern & Surprisingly Spacious Rooms

Overall, the interior felt very clean, sleek, and modern.

Clean and modern room interior at Mercure Sydney hotel

I booked a Double Bed Room, and I was genuinely surprised by how huge and comfortable the bed was. The layout is so generous that it could easily accommodate a group or family without feeling squeezed.

The room also comes equipped with a dedicated desk and a cozy sofa area, which made it super convenient to sit back, unwind, and enjoy some late night snacks after a long day of sightseeing.

One minor downside was that only two complimentary bottles of water are provided for the entire stay. Since bottled water in Sydney is surprisingly expensive (a small bottle at a local convenience store cost me around $4 AUD!), this felt a bit stingy. But here is a tip for you! Head up to the 14th-floor fitness center! There is a water dispenser where you can refill your water bottle for free whenever you need.

(Slippers aren’t placed in the room by default, but if you call the front desk, they will bring a pair up to your room right away!)

“The bathroom was super clean and modern, with great water pressure and plenty of hot water!

🏊‍♂️ The Highlight of the Stay: The 14th Floor Facilities

The absolute best part of Mercure Sydney has to be its rooftop facility layout on the 14th floor, featuring an indoor pool, a gym, and a sauna.

Even though it was quite chilly outside during my visit, the indoor pool area stayed nice and warm, making it perfect for a refreshing swim. Plus, the high rise city view from the pool area is absolutely stunning!

While the gym equipment is fairly basic, working out with that gorgeous Sydney skyline in front of you is a major vibe.

The gym and the pool are located right next to each other.

There is a sauna available, but keep in mind that it’s on the smaller side and can get quite crowded during peak hours.

📍 Prime Central Location (The Biggest Selling Point!)

The location of this hotel is unbeatable. Positioned right in downtown Sydney, you have instant access to everything you need!

A massive Woolworths supermarket is literally a 3-minute walk away (perfect for stocking up on snacks and groceries), and Chemist Warehouse is also just 3 minutes away on foot.

Also, Bus stops and Central Station are right at your doorstep, making it effortless to explore major Sydney landmarks, shop, and dine out.

Final Verdict: Would I Recommend It?

Whether you’re traveling with friends, as a couple, or on a family holiday, Mercure Sydney delivers fantastic value, supreme comfort, and unmatched convenience. It’s even a solid option for honeymooners looking for a reliable, well-located mid-range hotel.

If you want to stay close to all the action without breaking the bank, this hotel is a total winner! ✈️🇦🇺
